     After graduating from Western Michigan University in the first class of the new Physician Assistant Program, he practiced in Family Medicine for seven years. He was then employed by Blue Care Network, a staff model HMO, until 1994.

     In 1974, he was a founder of the Michigan Academy of Physician Assistants, and has held the title of President, Vice-president, Treasurer, and many committee assignments. In 1991, he was a founder of the Michigan Physician Assistant Foundation, and has held the title of President, Vice-president, Treasurer, and Secretary.

     He served for eight years as a Board Member of the Michigan licensing board for PAs, the Task Force on Physician Assistants. He was also a board member of the Michigan Osteopathic Physician And Surgeon Licensing Board.

     He has also served in the Armed Forces. During his three years in the US Army, he was trained and functioned similar to the role of a physician assistant, including one year in Viet Nam. He entered the Michigan Army National Guard in 1981, and is now the Senior Administrative Physician Assistant holding the rank of Major.

     He was a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Detroit Mercy, and taught at their Physician Assistant Program. He is the author of seven articles for or about the PA profession.

     He completed an Entrepreneurial Certificate Program between 1992-94 at a local university, and was the owner of PA Search, a physician assistant recruitment firm, for five years in the nineties.

     More recently, Mr. Kircher graduated from the second class of the new Communication and Multimedia Master Degree Program in 2001, offered by Saginaw Valley State University. He presented the paper: "The Surveillance and Manipulation of the World Wide Web Audience" at the Michigan Academy of Science, Arts, & Letters Annual Meeting,March 10, 2000.

He currently holds certification as an A+ Computer Service Technician, a Medical Staff Recruiter, a physician assistant, and in Advanced Life Support. After three years practicing in Urgent Care and Occupational Medicine, he is now in private Family Practice in Bay City, Michigan.
