The American Academy of Physicain Assistants reported today on the withdrawal of the St. Paul Companies from the medical malpractice market in December, 2001. Their reports also told of other insurers that will not longer provide medical malpractice insurance for physician assistants, such as Frontier, Reliance, and Phico.

This professional organization offers such coverage through an arrangement with NCMIC Insurance Company. Other carriers offering PAs malpractice insurance have not announced a decision to end this coverage.
