Information for PA Employers

Most physicians and institutions have been exposed to the PA Concept. There are still many that have not yet hired a PA, and need information about legal status, malpractice, Medicare, etc. There are other employers that have employed PAs, yet lack certain information. Common examples are national certification questions, coding for office visits, and the requirements for supervision by a physician under state law and federal reimbursement policies.

Our information is accurate, but is more helpful if supplemented by other sources. The first two places to start are the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA), and your local state chapter. The AAPA maintains a current list of chapters and designated contact officers within their web site.

Another source of local information are physician assistant programs. Their information is available from the Association of Physician Assistant Programs (APAP).

Have you developed articles or reports for employers that discuss the employment and utilization of PAs? Please consider submitting a copy for listing here in this section. As time goes by we hope thePApage.com will become the most comprehensive web source on the profession.
