Herb Research Foundation Contents include "a specialty research library containing more than 300,000 scientific articles on thousands of herbs, education programs, botanical literature research, publications, herb safety reviews, and Herb Information Packets." Among their interesting articles at the time of this review, one that stood out: Medical supplements may be treated as medical expenses

National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine
A section of the Combined Health Information Database (CHID). NCCAM maintains an information clearinghouse to collect, develop, and disseminate information to the public on Complementary Alternative Medicine practices and on the NCCAM. The AM Subfile of CHID includes references to fact sheets, textbooks, journals and journal articles, newsletters and newsletter articles, audiovisuals, directories, manuals, brochures and pamphlets, bibliographies, monographs, and reports. 11/20/01, jk

Food and Drug Interactions, National Consumers League . Their ". . . mission is to identify, protect, represent, and advance the economic and social interests of consumers and workers. The National Consumers League is a private, nonprofit advocacy group representing consumers . . . We are the nation's oldest consumer organization." Alzheimer Canada This aesthetically pleasing site represents this national Society Site. It features a great deal of basic information. In Common Questions, the first question is: "I believe my wife has Alzheimer Disease. How can I get her to see her doctor?" Also, the Physician Section encourages you to tell your doctor how to find it.1/02, jk

Listings of corporate funded clinical trials.
Also offers active matching of patients for Clinical Trials Matching Service.
Also offers reports focused on specific diseases, which include information about clinical trials results, drugs in development, and current clinical studies. Click here.

Clinicaltrials.gov
Listings of clinical trials for many forms of cancer and hundreds of other diseases. Mostly government funded-poor representation by pharmaceutical firms. Can request periodic email notifications of trials for region and subject of your choice.

Listings of corporate funded clinical trials.

Phrma.org
The Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America. Said to be the most extensive listings of industry/corporate funded clinical trials (Yahoo Internet Life, April 2001, page 116).

The Electronic Textbook of Dermatology  An amazing web text book, well researched and documented. Many pictures, written by Dermatologists. Intended for medical providers, but could be very useful for the average person wanting to know more about warts, skin cancer, baldness, etc.

There are many legitimate sites that discuss sexual issues. An easy way to see what is available is to go to any search engine (altavista.com, google.com, and many others) and enter sex as the search word. Surprisingly, most of the sites will not be pornographic, but informational. jk
