American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA)

The American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA), is the only national professional organization for physician assistants.

The informational resources available to the public about the profession are unequaled. More resources are available for members.

AAPA representatives and liaisons are assigned to numerous medical organizations, including the American Medical Association, the American Osteopathic Association, the American Academy of Family Practice, and many others.

Their web site is a good place to seek information about physician assistants, although much of the information is limited to members. The 2002 Salary Survey is at http://bes1.viamedialinq.com/b/u/d8aa7kmr/10852

Their Fast Fax service is another excellent source of professional information: 703-336-5550. (Follow the voice prompts, and enter the number 1 the first time to have the complete directory of documents sent to your fax machine.)
